BeautyOnTApp is a proudly South African, woman-owned online and in-store beauty destination committed to providing high-quality skincare, haircare, and self-care products. Our mission is to make exceptional beauty brands accessible to everyone, celebrating diversity and catering to a wide range of beauty needs.

Our Journey

Founded in 2015, BeautyOnTApp began as a mobile application connecting users with local beauty service providers, including makeup artists, hair stylists, and skincare professionals. The app also featured a directory of niche beauty brands, helping users discover unique products tailored to their preferences.

Recognising the challenges in monetising this model, we implemented a strategic pivot to launch our cosmetics e-tailing platform. Initially offering the same beloved brands from our app directory, we have since expanded our offerings to include a diverse range of products, ensuring our customers have access to high-quality beauty solutions.

In 2021, we noticed a gap in the market for certain products and decided to invest in brand and product development, which has since grown into a dedicated brand development team building a portfolio of proudly South African brands.

Proudly South African Brands. We have built a portfolio of locally formulated, locally manufactured, science-backed brands that solve real beauty needs for the South African market:

Pastry Skincare. Our proudly South African body care brand, developed in response to our community's requests for effective body care solutions. Locally formulated and manufactured, Pastry Skincare products are backed by science and cater to various skin concerns, offering both fragranced and fragrance-free options.

Mzuri Skin. A proudly South African brand dedicated to empowering individuals to feel confident in their skin. Mzuri's range addresses various skin concerns, promoting healthy and radiant skin.

B'AiR Skincare. A proudly South African range of affordable, science-backed products formulated to address concerns such as hyperpigmentation, acne, and dryness, all designed to promote healthy, glowing skin.

Formē Haircare. A proudly South African scalp-first haircare range that fuses popular skincare active ingredients and natural ingredients in scalp wash and daily care products. The ethos behind Formē is that a healthy scalp promotes healthy hair growth.

Each of our brick-and-mortar stores offers professional in-store consultations conducted by our in-house aestheticians, supported by advanced skin and hair analysis technology that deeply analyses the skin and scalp to better guide our team in curating well-suited routines for our customers, helping them see faster results.
